Day: 595
Shirt: Belle & Sebastian - Ampersand
Color: Navy Blue
Brand: Fruit Of the Loom Heavy
Source: In Case you are sitting at work today with not much to do and want to fill your brain with some really good information.  Pitchfork Classic released one of their documentaries this week on Belle & Sebastian’s “If You’re Feeling Sinister.”  I superbly great documentary series that takes a record and highlights the making behind it.  a visual 33 1/3 if you will.  In hindsight i should posted up the one they did on Modest Mouse in that post earlier.  that would have made sense..duh.
Either way i am a big sucker for documentaries in a big way.  Im the kind of guy that not only is interested in thew product but the making of the product.  example no t only do i enjoy a nicely crafted table with dovetails i also feel the need to figure out how the dovetails are made, how the wood is stained, and for that matter, where the wood comes from.  Im just a curious person by nature.  I think i can relate it to one of my moms husbands.  one time i asked him how does one of these lights work

Day: 502
Shirt: Django Django - Waveforms
Color: White
Brand: Earth something or another..they lost me at earth
Source:  Saw this band a few weeks back at the Echo and i was really blown away.  so much so that despite them not having merch, i mail ordered a shirt and paid the exorbitant price included the inflated shipping.  but i really was pscyed after seeing this band. its kinda rare when you go into seeing a show expecting little and come out sure stoked on them.
i would suggest this for any person out there that has ever enjoyed a beta band song they might want to check this band out.  its what they reminded me of right off the bat.

Day #329 Travis - Coming Around
Color: Army Green
Brand: Anvil
Source:  Me loves me some Travis.  Its just a group of the nicest guys ever making the nicest music to listen to.  It really never ceases to put me in a good mood.   I have seen these dudes multiple times, and all have been good, not one let down show.  I think mentioned previously on here about seeing them open up for Oasis the first time i saw them..on the Man Who tour.  Damn that was good.  People hadn’t gotten on the Man Who train yet so it was still kinda secret and special.
I like many other people used to love bands like Coldplay.  I still do i guess, but more specifically when Yellow first came out, the man who came out around the same time.  And it was special.  No  one caught on yet, i listened the shit out of Parachutes and the Man Who a lot that year.  I was kinda of obsessed.  Still am really.  I still go see Travis or Fran every time they play, still buy everyone of their records.  they are just really good people whom i have no quams about supporting or giving my money too.  they are the exact kind of band / people i would like to support and see grow and become successful  BECAUSE they are not dicks AND great  Musicians.  Know what i mean?
I had an opportunity a few years back to do a small session with this band that sadly got shut down do to legal reasons so it never aired, but was the best day ever. in the studio with Travis just shooting the shit, playing good music and being very comfortable, and not awkward.  They wanted to be there, I wanted to be there, we all just had lots of fun, i will never forget that day, or this band.
Iv’e uploaded the only song from that session that sound cloud will let me, it is them doing “I Kissed A Girl” by Katy Perry, its un-mastered but this is the first time it has been mad public so enjoy.

Day: #235 Travis - The Invisible Band
Color: Olive Drab
Brand: Anvil
Source: No joke, i have a real soft spot for this band.  I don’t know what it is, but I must have listened to “the Man Who” so many times i had to buy multiple copies i kept loosing it cause i would take it places so i wouldn’t be without it.  Every song they wrote seemed to be perfect, including every B-side and cover they did.  They did an amazing Britney Spears cover and on the Invisible band single a fucking great Queen and George Harrison cover.
I think Travis in a lot of ways is like a Teddy Bear.  At one point you love it and almost can’t fathom being without it, it becomes part of your daily life.  Then after a while you need to start seeing other stuffed animals, then Gi Joes, then Transformers, then a skateboard.  But at no point do you throw the bear away, cause it never leaves you with any bad feelings, or memories, only really great ones.  Travis is a prozack of Music, never a bad thought.
This shirt was from the Oasis Tour i might have mentioned earlier..  someday i will post up the MP3’s of that show i think i still have them that i bootlegged on my Mini Disc recorder.  fucking great show though..Oasis and Travis.  shit.

Day: 104
Shirt: Belle & Sebastian - &
Color: Navy BLue
Brand: M&O
Source:  Today was a travel day back from NY. I’m beat too much talking, walking, going out and seeing bands.  i will not lie, when i go out to see bands i always wish i would walk away with that feeling like i saw something new that really made me feel something.  to somehow stumble upon the next Smiths, or Belle And Sebastain.  sadly i did not, but i did come prepared and with an iPod stocked full of the smiths and belle and sebastian, that i listened to as i walked through the streets of NY.
