Day: 594
Shirt: Modest Mouse - Telephone Wires
Color: Light Blue
Brand: Standard American
Source: I’m pretty sure this is from the Moon Tour, but not positive.  I’ve seen this band A LOT since i was 18 so sometimes the shows blur together..but if i had to guess…thats where i’d say it originated from.  the tag say 2001 but what does that mean..
I dug this record out cause i went to see Mark Kozelek (of Red House Painters) the night before.  he was doing lots of covers on this tour and in other cities he was doing not one but two modest mouse covers.  so i was getting all excited. to my knowledge he did not play any Modest Mouse covers that night, but sometimes with him it is hard to tell.  I did not stay for encore either..so he might of played that or his new Descendents Silly Girl Cover.  i will never know…  but the show was amazing, Just too much time in a folding chair for me.
On a more interesting note.,.Jesus listen to Moon today and realize just how fucking good this record is after over 10 years..it really is amazing. It only gets better

Day #343 Modest Mouse - Hand
Color: Black
Brand: American Apparel
Source:  Why?  I spent A good portion of my morning getting sucked into a great documentary about  Modest Mouse’s “the Lonesome Crowded West” a video that Pitchfork TV made for a series called Classic.  A fucking great little piece of music history told truly in-depth with all the original cast involved.  seemingly like a video version of 33 1/3.  Seeing as how i never read any 33 1/3 much to the dismay of any of my friends, this seems like the perfect alternative to anyone like me who thinks they should have but haven’t.
Or just anyone who enjoys Traveling on the road, Documentaries, Isaac Brock, or Musical History.  Warning get a beverage and a snack, and get comfortable cause its not your average 2.5 min video it is 45 minutes long.  I got to 30 minutes before i even realized that i had been watching for 30 minutes so that is a good thing.
It being impossible to write about anything else today after watching this video, because i will have Modest Mouse stuck in my head all day long, i dug out the only Modest Mouse shirt i could find.  I think from the last record, or maybe the one before it.  not sure they all blur together after “Good News.”  Either way..nothign i can say about a shirt today will be as good as this documentary.  so watch this, and then go listen to Lonesome Crowded West.

Day: #286 Modest Mouse - Sun
Color: Baby Blue
Brand: Hanes Beefy-T
Source: Holy Shit!  Much like this shirt graphic this today is fucking boring.  the highlight was watching the Lakers win in double overtime.  Like such a boring day the dog is looking at me being like, c’mon dude, there has got to be something to do i have been sleeping for about t14 hrs straight.  take me for a walk at least.  that boring.  So boring i am posting this up at 5PM, not cause i have been busy, but because this was the highlight of my day today.
Much like my day this shirt is boring, but sadly Modest Mouse is not notorious for making good shirt designs, but i still buy them anyway….why??  loyalty? Cause the band is that good?  I Don’t know.  Isaac if you read this, i know you know good artists, call em up and don’t be cheap and flip a lil script to them and get some shirt designs done.  Call Thomas Campbell and get him to do some more Ugly Cassanova art.  something buddy.  but this shirt just reeks of shit, we leave for tour in two weeks anyone got any designs leftover that we can buy out that  Wilco didn’t want?
And another thing.  get Johnnny Marr back and put out another fucking record already.  thanks.

Day: 131
Shirt: Modest Mouse - Good news for People Who Love Bad News
Color: Army green
Brand: Standard American
Source: I have been listening to Modest Mouse for shit…i dunno, i think since high school.  they were like a staple to my music diet, like Misfits or Black Flag.  but i never really fell in love with them, or truly appreciated them until i got a copy of building something out of nothing from Up records owner Chris Takino. for some reason, that cd resonated with me and i went form appreciating that band to be a real die hard fan.  then they released good news and the shit hit the fan, a big radio hit.  all the attention in the world for them.
this shirt was a promo from Sony Records for the album, i m not sure if it was ever sold or not but it is one of my fav’s
