Shirt: the Cardigans - Band Drawing
Color:  Tan
Brand: Fruit Of The Loom Heavy
Source:  I wanna say this was 2003?  the Troubadour in LA.  but who knows.  i suppose i AM at a computer and could look it up while i type this, but your memory is a muscle and you need to exercise it…right?
I have been a real long time fan of this band, i am pretty sure it was acoustic Black Sabbath covers that really did it for me, they nailed this songs so good.  then they got kinda blown out by love fool and you heard that song over n over n over.  then like most radio pop hits, people stop caring, lose interest. but they kept making good albums, i kept buying them, and going to see them live every time they came to town.  still would had they not thrown in the towel.  I guess i will just have to wait for the reunion tour.  yeah ill go to that too.

Shirt: Morrissey - November Spawned A Monster (Reproduction)
Color:  Silver
Brand: Alstyle
Source:  I would rarely a sunday goes by where the the thought doesn’t cross my mind, Everyday is Like Sunday.  Its true.  Like when someone says “I Can’t Go Out Tonight”…my mind always feels the need to say “Cause You haven’t Got a Stitch to wear???”
well its Sunday. and this was the alt version i made of the black shirt.  even tho I’m black on the inside doesn’t mean i want to every shirt to be black on the outside.  so i made 2 silver and 2 white of each size.  its sad but no one buys shirts that aren’t black sometimes.  i enjoy color.  and variety.  I even made the white ones which white ink.  so that when you shirt dulls and fades the white ink will still be white and it will have more depth.  do you care?  probably not.

Day: 1110

Shirt: NOFX - Punk In Drublic

Color:  Heather Grey

Brand: Brockam

Source:  It is easy to forget how good this album is.  I love this band but for some reason this album will not be the one i reach for at times when i think of NOFX, but jesus H Christ it is hammer after hammer after hammer.  fits a fucking modern day punk rock masterpiece.  there is a reason this band is so fucking big, and has laster for 3 decades almost.  no fucking line up changes.  i mean in the beginning but once they found their stride it just works so well.  fuck i can’t wait for Backstage Passport 2.  gunna be so good.

NOFX is playing all over this summer and i think they are doing this record here and there too…makes me think i need to get off my ass and make sure i go see it one more time.

Day: 1109
Shirt: Descendents - Somery (Bootleg?)
Color:  Green
Brand: Gilden Heavy Cotton
Source:  Now today i have had Descendents on the brain all morning so i piped this on.  which i can only assume is a bootleg, because i got it off eBay.  I can however appreciate that it was done tastefully.  good printing, proper shirt color choice.  didn’t over do it. simple tasteful application of the cover.  i was going to make this as a kid myself i remember contemplating it, but decided against it and here is why.  so many people who you ask what their fav descendents album is they will say Somery.  and I’m like WTF??? how can a greatest hits album be your fav, and they have no clue.  so this is my 20 years later a little more relaxed and ready to say, ok great job, Somery is a great album but its still just a hits album and as far as I’m concerned every album they make is a Hits album.

Shirt: Against Me! - White Crosses 2011 US Tour

Color:  White

Brand: Gilden

Source:  I did not post this up yesterday  but really the only point i was going to make is that i still have Transgender Dysphoria Blues on Repeat.  i fucking love that album and haven’t gotten sick of it.  I hop ei never do.  I am also stoked that it seems to be popular and I’m happy people can embrace change.  looking forward to an epic fyffest performance too.

Day: 1107
Shirt: Joyce Manor - Matt & Frank
Color:  White
Brand: Tultex
Source:  not sure how many of you have caught on to Joyce Manor (seen at day #552)  yet but here is me saying you should cause i can’t get enough of it really.  They have a new album that comes out today and since it leaked last week and i have been listening to it for Free the least i could do it post it up today.

the new album Never Hungover Again has so many different classic punk influences in it i hear.  while even the band may not think it or know but i hear very distinct sounds of Seattle’s own Sicko (Christmas Card), a little Saves the Day (the Jerk), a smudge of Jawbreaker and dare i say it a lil bit of the good early Blink-182 (Heart Tatoo) as well.  despite having these very pop melodic sounding parts the album doesn’t have that cheesy sound to it all and i think thats where the Jawbreaker influence comes in.  balancing out the pop parts with the angst guitar parts and darker vocals that really make this a fucking enjoyable album for me.
Im not sure what it is for me that really does it for me.  I mean i have seen them a few times and its just the kind of band that puts off a we are having a fun time live vibe that really puts me in the best mood.  the record i think is one of those albums that didn’t jam all the good hits in the first 3 songs, so you can enjoy the whole album and not feel like there is this hit and after that it is downhill. that or the album was just poorly sequenced, but i prefer to think of it as strategic.  I think they are gunna be on tour soon cause they are playing LA soon so ill post some tour dates below and a link to buy at iTunes and stream the album.  and a place to buy merch too :)
I hope you guys like it.  i mean feel like its safe to say that if you like half the bands on here i post up shirts for you will def like this.
Ill Say it before and ill say it again. Support good new bands or else enjoy the alternative, a lifetime of Gaga and Beiber

Shirt: Gray Matter - Bite The Bit
Color:  Black
Brand: American Style t-shirts
Source:  there was a time when Dischord would fart out any record and i (and probably a lot of other kids) would buy it. Didn’t matter what it sounded like you just knew that if Dischord put it out it was going to be just good at the very least.  i spent a lot of tome buying albums on the back of all my Dag Nasty / Fugazi purchases that i thought its only 5 bucks ill try it out.

this ad is a perfect example here.  use obscure Cynthia Conolly photo, add band name at bottom and boom i was sold.  i would say i bought every album form the list above there aside from Fidelity Jones, which i can’t even say i ever remember.  aside from Fugazi, i knew no other band on that list until i mail ordered them.  i think i have to say my most favorite surprise album from this list was Holly Rollers.  i really enjoy ed that album a lot.
Grey Matter was no joke either, it was solid and i liked it but it was never the undiscovered Dag Nasty you always secretly hoped for.  i will take any band on Dischord any day of the week over anything that gets played on the radio today tho.  anyday.
