Day: 620
Shirt: FYF 2012 - Travis Millard Design
Color: Baby Blue
Brand: Gilden Softstyle
Source: Travis Millard might be one of my favorite artists in the world. i should say people, but its him and his art that make him so good. he has a great way of translating the real world into a comical drawing that will make you think, smile and laugh all at once. the above is a shirt i commissioned him to do for last years FYF. I’m sure he will do another for this years as well, so look out for that.
In other great news he has an ART SHOW at THIS gallery this weekend if you are in the LA area come check it out. his work will blow your mind and leave you feeling good.
If you don’t live in LA and love Travis..here is a sneak peak of a new TV show we are working on with him doing what he does best…. telling stories and drawing stuff you can follow it on the tumblr here http://drawingstories.tumblr.com

Day: 477
Shirt: Torche - Goes On Tour With Converge 2012
Color: Yellow
Brand: Anvil
Source: Went to the show with Converge / Torche / Kvelertak that FYF put on this weekend. great show, great crowd, great line up. the merch section was..overwhelming to say the least. looked like a small Hot Topic in there. i think Converge alone had about 12 shirts. Torche 4-5, Nails 4-5 , Kvelertak 1-2. it was serious shit.
Clearly there was one shirt out of all of them that relly summoned me and called my name. this beautifuly designed nod to the Descendents ” I Don’t Want To Grow Up” design.
Kudos to you Torche for taking the effort to make such a memorable design. A shirt that will be remembered for many years to come. a shirt that says “we went on tour with our friends Converge and this is all we have to show for it.”
If any of you are going to the rest of this tour, don’t forget to grab this fine gem. or else you will be regretting it.
Day #420 Cloud Nothings - Drawings Shirt
Color: Cream
Brand: Next Level
Source: after 3 shows i finally get a shirt from these guys, first time no shirts, second time out of my size. 3rd time was in fact a charm. I picked this up at FYF this weekend, and this and Chromatics might have been my fav shows of the weekend. Not that they blew doors off or anything, I was just really happy to see them, and even more happy to see lots of people like me just as excited and happy to see them. You know what i mean? Its like when you see billions of people at a LAday Gaga concert on TV and then you think, i with only 1/10th of these people would listen to good music and come to a real bands show.
And they did. Cloud Nothings also played the (self adapted name) the Minor Thread Theme Song that can be heard below :) Thanks FYF. Good Show!

Day #341 Japandroids - Never Alone
Color: Black
Brand: American Apparel
Source: Went to see the Japandroids last night at the Echoplex . I have been in love with “Celebration Rock” ever since it came out, and was really stoked to see it live. It was not a let down at all, all the poet and energy i wanted + a great crowd that clapped, fingerprinted and sang along that made it all that much better. its funny i forgot at one point during the show that is just a two piece. I guess it is easy to forget since the band has such a full sounding performance. At one point i even had to walk all way around club to see if there was a third man on stage playing…nope. just two dudes that looked like Sean Carlson from FYF playing their hearts out.
Fucking good show, so i picked this shirt up too. I put them in the “Good punk bands of 2012 to listen to” category with Fidlar and Cloud Nothings.

Day # 303 OFF! - Satan Did Not Appear
Color: White
Brand: Anvil
Source: Went to See the OFF! Record release show last night at the Whiskey. I don’t think i have been to the whiskey since i did a NOFX show there in 2006, been a while. apparently Keith Goes there a lot. he told stories about all the shows he saw there, like Black Sabbath!!! WTF. Black Sabbath at the Whiskey must’ve been insane. Who knows, perhaps seeing OFF! there in 20 years will sound just as wild, but somehow i doubt it. I was more psyched to think 411 Played there at some point Mario said. what i wouldn’t give to see that show. i fucking love any band Mario is in. A Fine Pettibon shirt as well. FYI OFF! if you keep printing Pettibon designs i will keep buying them.
It’s funny how much Keith Morris shred on most front men. and the dude is probably twice their age. some people got it, and some don’t I guess. he is 50 fucking 7 for christ sakes. 57! put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Fidlar played that night too, my first time to see them after already being a fan, and luckily i wasn’t disappointed. not sure what i would have been disappointed about, it would be pretty hard, but bands nowadays, you never know. (I’m looking at you Blood Orange!!! get it together) Fidlar i found out stands for “Fuck It Dog, Lifes A Risk” but somehow i am sure it will end up standing for a whole lot more. Very reminiscent to me of some old Dead Milkmen, it was a nice refreshing fun surf punk band that looked and played the part, and were legit. kudos you lil fuckers. keep it together for a while and crank out some good records.
My Favorite quote of the night. Keith Saying I’m not Punk, i don’t belong to and organizations kept for the human race. I’m just old and angry.”
Thanks for putting on the show FYF and Goldenvoice.
Go by the OFF record and this shirt as well. Support Keith’s Retirement Fund.
Day: 024
Shirt: Descendents - ALL
Color: Blue (kinda Turquiose-ish)
Brand: Fruit Of The Loom
Source: This band and this shirt are two of my favorite things in life. I try not to wear it all that much cause i want it to last forever, i love it that much. i know they still make it now, but it will never be as quality as this version that has ink on the chest so thick it sticks to you if you sweat and almost makes the shirt top heavy. you can even see in the pic the shirt is cracking…cracking!! shirts don’t crack any more!
Fuck, this record was a motherfucking great last album by a band. this and “Strange Ways Here We Come” Iceman, Pep Talk, coolidge…man this post is depressing now, cause i just realized last night i’m going to be out of town when Descendents play FYF this year. and i want get to dance around with Sean. but alas, there will be other times. so this goes out to you Derek. i need you to rep it hard for me, go for the mic and get a few good lyrics in if you can. get ALLular.
Day: 011
Shirt: Black Flag - “Jealous again”
Color: YELLOW!!
Brand: Hanes Beefy-T
Source: This clearly was some mail-order piece at some point in my life. I wish that i was cool enough to say i got this on an early Black Flag tour, cause then i would be way cooler and this shirt would be more of a dirty Yellow. But this is a band i can safely say shaped the way i grew up and what i listened to. Black Flag to me was like nothing else, and in a weird way it spoke to me, and being an outcast skateboarder. i was rare to identify so much with a band at this time. a time when previously i was listing to INXS, the Fix, and Depeche Mode. Don’t get me wrong, those bands are great. they spoke to me in different, more vague ways..but Black Flag..man they knew about cops, jocks and being an outcast, and they wrote to it. I would go on to buy everything black flag, every record, and listen to them all religiously, and still do today. which brings me to the reason i wore this shirt today.
Sean, this post is for you. Way to put on a amazing show today with you pile of shit that i cannot attend, with no advance notice. you should just added Descendents to the bill and fucked my dog to make it complete. any who. have fun at the show, enjoy it. and we are still friends.
