Day: 867Shirt: Bill Callahan - Dream River 2013 TourColor:  Army GreenBrand: American ApparelSource: had the wonderful pleasure if seeing Bill Callahan (formerly Smog) last week, not once but twice.  and although he played the same set at each show they couldn’t be more polar opposite in feeling.

Night one was at Pappi And Harriets in Pioneertown which for those of you outside of So Cal is in the dessert near Joshua Tree.  say a 2 hr drive from LA proper.   This bar is kinda famous so i have always wanted to go out, and see what it was all about.  we get there at night and it is literally in the middle of nowhere.  no street lights, signs, or light for that matter.  Rocks, trees and sand are about all you can see, oh and sky.  there is this lil Cabin of a Bar with a neon Sign glowing up the surrounding area.  this must be the spot.  so inside is a full on Western bar really.  lots of wood, pool tables, and outdoor grilling area where they cook all the meat and inside a tiny stage that is the same level as the floor itself.  which sucks if you are past 3 people deep or a small person cause you can’t see anything.  there are TV’s everywhere though so you can sit back have a drink and in my case have a Mesquite grilled steak (that was one of the best I’ve eaten in my life) and sit back and enjoy the sounds of Mr. Callahan.  It really was awesome, i didn’t need to see him but i could hear him great i was sitting and i was eating this magnificent piece of meat.  those of you Vegans out there turning your head, just picture it was a nice piece of Kale, the freshest you have ever eaten and multiply that by a million.  It was a really great night…and it seems the only people in the bar are people that drove out form LA, which i just found hilarious.

Some day ill wear the other color version of this shirt i got, and tell you about the second night.  i know what a fucking cliffhanger right?  yeah i know, but i felt like i needed to save something for the day when that shirt comes out of hiding.
No Music Companion today either, Drag city doesn’t believe in Streaming.  sorry.  instead ill put some pics from the night:
