Day: 614
Shirt: Samiam - Thirteen Country Tour 1990
Color: White
Brand: Hanes Classic
Source: I Found this shirt on eBay a few weeks back.  can’t explain how much i love it.  not only am i fan of Sergie Loobkoff’s art but a lot of his art is very representative of my fav era in time.  1990’s punk.  Why?  cause i wasn’t old enough to grow up during the 80’s, the the 90’s were a very formidable time in my life.
Sergie used to do art for so many punk shows in northern California, specifically the Bay Area.  I would say it was a toss up between Aaron Cometbus, Lookout’s Pat Hynes and Sergie that pretty much cornered the bay area market.
It migh tbe hard to explain. but much like my Empire Strikes back vintage sleeping bag i got off ebay recently it is very important to me.  reminding me of a time when i enjoyed discovering and meeting people and discovering new things.  perhaps i was a little more naive but it was as they say..ignorance is bliss?
So additionally another reason i think this shirt is awesome is it was before Soar. so this would be the first or second time this band went around the world to play music, you can only imagine it was rough, fun, and fresh for everyone.  people in Germany were being exposed to the bay area for the first time..American punk, the 2nd generation.  all just very exciting.   also what you can’t read at the bottom is where it says “this shirt afforded ‘Em a cheese sandwich”  a very Sergie quote if i ever heard one.

I just discovered that if i end posts with a question it allows you to respond, soo…Is Any one as stoked about this shirt as me?
