Day: 468 Shirt: Carry Nation - The Legendary Carry Nation Face The Nation Color: Black Brand: Fruit Of The Loom Source:  Let me start of by saying this.  I have never been straight edge.  never have, never will.  i have never been vegetarian, never have never will.  that does not mean that i do drugs or eat meat. It just means i do not like labels or pigeonholing ones self.  i believe if you don’t want to eat mean, then don’t.  if you don’t want to do drugs and drink then don’t.  i don’t really understand people that need to do things in extremes.  me?  I’m just like rad, i don’t eat meat for a week or a month, I’m fine with it, but i want my options and flexibility to be who i am without making arbitrary lines for myself to stay behind or cross.    Ive seen so many people who were edge, the tats, the whole nine yards.  the preachy fellows, who when you see them 20 years later, they are fucking stung out on drugs with drinking problems to boot.  but perhaps they are just extreme people and thats how they live   you either don’t do drugs or you go balls deep and do them all. I dont only ear band shirts on this site, but that is my preference..BUT if i want to wear a different shirt, say on my wife’s birthday, i can.  I don’t know where i’m going on this one. just maybe trying to get you a peek into my brain and see how i work.  i guess i am just too realistic and know that people stray and change minds.  I don’t drink much but once every three weeks i will have a drink.  a bottle of scotch lasts me about 4-5 months.   When i Think of Dan O’ Mahoney and all his straight edge ventures i always think how hard it must be to live under that umbrella.  the pressure is unbelievable.  but i think that just shows you that is the kind of person he is.  he is what he is, and he believes in it.  him and ian McKay, but i get the feeling that is just the kind of person they are.  they didn’t change or flip a with, it is just how they are wired.  its when people try to be come something they are not to fit in , is when i think it becomes a failure.   so good for Dan, and Ian, may they live long healthy lives.. ADDENDUM: Apparently unbeknownst to me Dan is not Edge anymore so nevermind what i said about him.  Unless hell has froze over though Ian is still safe
