Day: 437
Shirt: Bauhaus - Dancers
Color: Grey
Brand: Giant
Source: I am not one to jump on any bandwagon.  so much so that i didn’t even listen to Led Zeppelin until i was about 30.  Bauhaus was one of them bands as well.  while i was all up in the shirt for Love & Rockets, Depeche Mode, and the Cure.  Bauhaus always had some stigma attached to it for me.   its is like if everyone you see walking around with a Bauhaus shirt on looks like a dipshit, my first instinct is to steer clear.  and that was my instinct when i was in high school.  SO it was literally until a few years ago, i put every Bauhaus album on my ipod and listened to them all, for maybe 3 weeks straight. On one hand it was fucking awesome, cause it was like hearing a new band and thinking they are fucking amazing, and being stoked you found a new band that got you interested and jazzed.
Ironically it didnt sound dated, and played out.  it could have been wolf whatever, black whatever, or the whatever.  slap a new name on this and no one would be the fucking wiser (if they hadnt heard Bauhaus before that is).
The sad part of this all is it just made me wish there was a band out currently playing music this style and heavy.  It was simple.  recorded well, and had something to say.  Haunting, melodic, and rock n roll all at the same time.
I urge any of you who haven’t dove into the Bauhaus catalog to do it today.  throw it on your ipod and take a long walk or drive and soak it in.  man what a fucking game changer this band must have been when it came out.  unreal.
