Day #424 Drag The River - Buzzards Gotta Eat Too
Color: Black
Brand: Hanes Heavyweight
Source: Some of you may know, some may not.  this is Chad Price’s other band.  Chad Price being the third singer of ALL.  This band what i didnt know is that has had a huge rotating cast of ex punkers.  Like Karl Alvarez (Descendents), Casey Prestwood (Hot Rod Circuit), Dave Barker (Pinhead Circus) and JJ Nobody (the Nobody’s).  quite the cast for an alt country band from the middle of Colorado.
What i do like about this band is it made me appreciate the other side of Chad Price.  meaning it made me like him in ALL more after hearing this side of him.  Some reason i appreciated his more brash vocal style in ALL after listening to him have a softer slower style in DTR.
I think long before i ever heard drag the river i expected it to sound something like Lynard Skynard or something like that i guess. Its just weird the pre-concieved notions you get from being un educated about something. So after the first listen i was taken back, but enjoyed it none the less.  it was something i could picture myself listening to at a bar with a lot of sawdust on the floor, and a bunch of rowdy country boys hollering at some girl walking by.  then Clint Eastwood comes in with his Chimp and start a big bar fight, and then take off in their beater vintage truck (in case no one knows what i am referring to please go watch AnyWhich Way But Loose.)  that is what i think of when i hear this band i cant help myself.  but to me that is a good thing.  Any band that can invoke any sort of feeling is a good thing.  and If i had to describe Drag the River to anyone it would for sure include the usage of that fine Clint Eastwood Feature.
Im going to close this by saying any one who has a complaint about my reference should not have a slide guitar in their band.
