Day #400 - the Breeders - East Los Mix Tape
Color: Navy
Brand: Jerzeez
Source:  Boom, 400 shirts today.  only 100 more to go.  do you think you guys will be sad if i reach 500 and then just stop  cutting you guys off cold turkey like a bunch of heroine junkies sent to rehab.  will you all find God just to cope with the emptiness of this page not being updated everyday with some sweet shirt and my witty banter for you to yell at your computer screen about?  So many unanswered questions..are you even prepared?  I mean i could keep going but i will tell you writing a daily column is not easy.  its lots of work.  I have to put this shirt on you know, AND PICK IT OUT.  my butler got laid off so i have to do it all by myself.  and the laundry detergent bills are going through the roof.  Perhaps i can get a TIDE and Downey sponsorship.  anyone reading this that works for P&G and wants to look super cool and smart in a marketing meeting bring that up.  shit you sponsor NASCAR, why not a music blog.   I really cant think of a better way to encourage more detergent sales than to partner up with the ‘Thread.
Back to the Breeders.  Cassettes seem to be all the rage right now, i think they might want to reconsider this shirt design as a reprint.  it would be all the rage.  Funny to me that tapes are even popular again.  above 8Tracks cassettes are one of the worst ways to listen to music.  the tapes melt, stretch, you have to fast forward to next song.  and they get eaten!!!!  when was the last time a CD or a record got eaten?  I mean come on!  thats it, tape is done for, gobbled up by the cassette monster.  no refunds.
The only plus side that tapes had was that you could take your oder brothers shitty Scorpions tape (which i did_ and put tape over the hole and record over it.  thus making it worthwhile again.  but only for a matter of months until it gets eaten again.  I remember when my Back to the Future soundtrack got eaten and i was so bummed, no more Back in Time By Huey Lewis and the News.  Im not saying this to be cool or nostalgic cause i bought that tape when the movie came out and i genuinely loved Huey lewis and the News.  saw them on that tour at Cal Expo in Sacramento.  Fucking good.  THey shredded the Sax on that show.  I bet that Sax dude got so much puss in his day, he had to have gotten VD more than once.  good for him.
I Don’t know why but i always equate that back to the future soundtrack with the Jacksons Victory Tape.  maybe i bought them at the same time.  but that is what i was jaming to that era.  i can still hear that song to this day..bump bump….bump bump..Can you Feel it, can you feel it , CAN YOU FEEL IT???
