Day #393 New Build - New Build Color: White Brand: Gilden Softstyle Source:  a Friend of mine sent me this record saying “here i know you like this kind of shit.”  how right he was. It has become on of my fav records this summer.  Ironically so has Hot Chip.  If you are asking your self at this point why is this ironic, well i’ll tell you. its beause New Build is made up of members of Hot Chip And LCD Soundsystem If that didn’t intrigue you right there you might as well stop reading becuase clearly this style of music does not interest you.  which is fine to each his own, but me, i like diversity, and while some people when asked always say “i like all kinds of music” my response  is always “I only like good music.” I jsut find it so cool that the new Hot Chip record is so good, and this side project is almost as good.  its rare true musicians that can pull off always making good music one after another.  its rare these days.   Sadly i had to mailorder this shirt cause i feel like the odds of this band playing a show soon is going to be unlikely with the success of the new hot chip record.  who knows ill keep my fingers crossed.  I never thought i would see Zoot Woman either but 9 years later i got to see them!  Speaking of which this record reminds me a lot of Zoot Woman and a little Pet Shop Boys too.  Its so good on many levels, i urge you to check it out and sit with it for a few listens and enjoy it, its grows and grows like a good album does on you.
