Day #384 King Tuff - X-Ray Vision
Brand: Next Level
Source: When to see this band the other night at the Echo. No Expectations, just a solid record that i was psyched to see live. I will preface this with saying that i went out skateboarding a few hours before in a parking lot for a few hours. Slappied lots of curbs and such, then went to this show. I gotta say right form the get go it is nice to see bands that aren’t all into tryin to look cool. Not that they didn’t, but there is always a clear definition between people who TRY to look cool and put lots of effort into it, and people who just are who they are and look cool because they carry themselves well. this band was the latter.
I hope that bass player owns a 1979 Corvette, or maybe a camero, cause i bet he would look pretty bitchin’ in that thing smoking some Winston’s or some thing like that listening to BOC.
Anyway part of what this show so good was the crowd. i haven’t seen people get this jazzed for a band in a while in a good party way, not the OMG i love this band so much i wanna touch them way. Beer was thrown and crowds were surfed and there were chicks stage diving. Did the band get pissed. nope it was what is was..and what it was was good. The singer dedicated many songs to “the Motherfuckers” who i can only assume were similar to “the Man.” Just people that you know exist and are in your audience but prefer not to draw attention to them. Holy shit, I just thought, what if i was a Motherfucker? Whoa. I totally could have been one, maybe by motherfuckers he meant dudes who collect band shirts and go to shows then write dumb ass blog posts about it like this. mind blown.
Point being go see this band when they play. Buy them a beer and enjoy rock n’ roll the old fashioned way. fun, loud and fueled by beer. Bunny Poison I’m looking at you Particularly thinking you will enjoy this one a lot.
